Since 1950, the Sagra Musicale Malatestiana has brought the most popular international conductors, soloists and orchestras to Rimini, for this prestigious cultural events, one of the most long-standing in Italy. Apart from symphony concerts, in the last years, the event has expanded with different collateral projects, where music meets the other arts. From the end of the summer, the new Galli Theatre will start its excellent music season, with the Sagra Musicale Malatestiana ending with chamber music.

Cinema, theatre, music, arts, literature: many local artists made themselves available to the City, for the project “E la chiamano Rimini – Artisti uniti per la città”, and will perform in many parts of the City (Corte degli Agostiniani, Arena Lido at Rimini’s Marina Dock, Colonia Bolognese, square on the water at the Tiberius Bridge, Cloister of the Gambalunga Library, City Museum, former Enel Warehouses, Podere dell’Angelo) to promote and support this season’s cultural offer.
All the more than thirty artists who contributed to the success of the project will performe in the several venues proposed during the summer 2020.

Arena Lido

Iniziative in the summer schedule "E la chiamano Rimini" (And they call it Rimini)

A new Arena under the stars and on the seashore, to turn the cinema screens back on, and also to go back to the stage, in the open air. The film programme includes seasonal films, new films and films that, due to the health crisis, were released only for a short time before the lockdown. Apart from the screenings, there will be live theatre and music shows, with some of the most popular names of the national scene. 
The arena contains about 600 sits, in compliance with Covid-19 requirements.

Cartoon Club

36th Edition: International Festival of Animation Films, Comics and Games

The International Festival of Animation Films, Comics and Games transforms and multiplies its events over the course of 6 months, between July and December, with a formula combining live and online events. On the Festival’s digital channels, you can see the over 300 competing shorts films, and events in live streaming with directors, animators, screenwriters and journalists. In addition, TV channel IcaroTV will feature Cartoon Club Show, showing the best films of the Festival and studio guests.
The first phase is held from 15 to 19 July in the Augustine Cloister (Via Cairoli 68), the open-air film arena that every day hosts screenings and live performances with Rimini’s Scuola del Fumetto. In the year of his centenary, on Saturday 18 July, Cartoon Club pays homage to Fellini with “Chicken and Friends. Omage to Fellini", an original show combining live drawing and music. The Augeo Art Space Gallery (Corso d’Augusto 217, 6:00 PM) will host meetings with the authors, and for two Thursday nights (16 and 23 July) the Festival will host special events for children and families (Cloister of the San Giuliano Church).
Between 15 and 30 July, the Municipal Museums host the amusing exhibition dedicated to Silver and his famous character: Lupo Alberto.
The 2020 Edition billboard is signed by street artist Eron, and a site-specific temporary installation will be exhibited in an open-air space in the city.
Cartoon Club will resume its activities on 28 October, the day when animation films are celebrated worldwide, with screenings and events in different places of the Rimini province, and in movie theatres in the historical centre.
