The Seafaring and Shell Museum of Viserbella opens for the holidays. It was set up in 1999 for the recovery of the history and maritime traditions of this small Rimini village.
The Museum preserves documents, artefacts and fishing equipment.
Typical boats, equipment for the different ways of fishing and the tools at the base of the artisan art of the shipwrights and caulkers are also exhibited here.
Furthermore, the Capici Collection, the most important collection of shells in the Mediterranean, is on display and a sector is dedicated to the fossils donated by Ivilia Rosa from Turin.
Visitors are welcomed by the traditional Marine Nativity scene, with the Nativity set up on a batana, the typical flat-bottomed boat.
