Crossroads, the 21st edition of the traveling Jazz show throughout Emilia Romagna, presents the musical performance by Enrico Rava & Joe Lovano Quintet.
Launched in November 2018, this quintet brought together, after more than twenty years, two international jazz stars such as Joe Lovano and Enrico Rava.
We find them leading a band whose rhythm section strengthens the USA-Italy dialogue, with Dezron Douglas, Nasheet Waits and Giovanni Guidi.
On the music stand there is mainly original music written by Rava and Lovano, as well as some standards: a mix of modern and lyrical jazz, engaging and exciting. From a concert held at the Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome the CD Roma (ECM) was recorded. It won the Top Jazz as the best Italian jazz record of 2019 , while in the same referendum Rava was elected the best Italian musician of the year.
