All the novelties in Palazzi dell’Arte Rimini: a new exhibition hall, the Garden of Sculptures, the first edition of the Italian Artists Award

Giardino delle sculture

One year after its opening, Palazzi dell’Arte Rimini announces a series of novelties: the opening of a new temporary exhibition room with new works from the San Patrignano Collection; the opening of the Sculpture Garden and the launch of a brand new award dedicated to Italian artists under 40, created for the museum in collaboration with the San Patrignano Foundation.
On the first floor of the Palazzo del Podestà, a new temporary room enriches the itinerary through the presentation of new works: some already present in the Collection and not yet exhibited in the new museum, while others are the result of very recent donations. Alessandro Moreschini, Matteo Pugliese, Gideon Rubin, Marco Strappato and Sabrina Mezzaqui are the new artists who have joined the collection more recently. Among the historical artists of the Collection, the works of Maurizio Cannavacciuolo, Thomas De Falco, Bertozzi & Casoni and Loredana Longo.

Another great achievement involves the outdoor area overlooking Piazza Malatesta: the Garden of Sculptures, a new and visionary open-air section that integrates the museum's proposal with a public space dedicated to the art of our time. Conceived as an extension of the inner exhibition path, the Garden is also accessible from the outside for free. Within the plant perimeter, which interprets a current version of the typical Italian garden, a selection of seven contemporary art sculptures set up in "open-air exhibition rooms”: the works belong to the artists Alberto Garutti, Paul Kneale, Giuseppe Penone, Arnaldo Pomodoro, Kiki Smith, Piotr Uklanski and Chen Zhen.

The Municipality of Rimini and the San Patrignano Foundation also announce an Italian Artists Award, a new biennial award for Italian contemporary art talents under the age of forty, Italians or residents in Italy. The award came out from an idea of Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo and Giuseppe Iannaccone. The PART Italian Artists Award aims to support emerging Italian contemporary art, while at the same time contributing to the growth of the San Patrignano Foundation Collection according to the endowment model on which the Collection itself is based, through the purchase of one of the works among the first three classified. The San Patrignano Collection thus continues to grow and the PART gives life to a virtuous system that brings benefits to the community thanks to the relationship between public and private.
