The curtain rises on the first prose season in the Galli Theater, the new-rebuilt theater, where the ferocity of the war had imposed silence and dust for decades. The billboard presents a program full of classic and contemporary titles, revisited and staged by the most successfull directors and playwrights of the international scene.
Umberto Orsini, Luisa Ranieri, Isa Danieli, Giuliana De Sio, Marco Paolini, Davide Enia, Gioele Dix, Laura Marinoni, Lorella Cuccarini, Marina Massironi, Filippo Dini, Anna Foglietta, Paolo Calabresi and many others. The protagonists of the 2018/19's season are great performers of the Italian theatre, crowd favorites and appreciated by critics, often award-winning like Alessandro Serra, Lucia Calamaro, Mariangela Gualtieri or Teatro Sotterraneo, they will measure themselves with texts capable of investigating everyday life, a theater that is to be placed in that area of ​​art that moves our interiority.
Many new productions on the billboard this year. It starts with a prologue to the season that sees the return on stage, in the frame of Castel Sismondo, of the play “Malatesta”, a travelling show produced by the Municipality of Rimini on occasion of Malatesta celebrations; conceived, interpreted and directed by Gianluca Reggiani. Based on the play “Malatesta” by Henry de Montherlant, which was performed by Arnoldo Foà in 1969, the performance recorded a continuous sold out throughout the last spring and it will be performed from 4th October, every week end of the month, four times a week.
The composition of the billboard is divided into sections and paths that can be crossed in complete freedom, each with its own identity. A multifaceted path, to be carried out by entering into different disciplines and genres, between popular narration and research as in the tradition of theater. Three subscription sections: shows for the ABC rounds, shows also for the single round named D-other routes, while the path dedicated to the contemporary, which will remain staged at Teatro degli Atti, offers proposals of experimental drama, closer to research- Tracce D Contemporaneo.
For the opening of the season Toni and Peppe Servillo will be on stage on Tuesday 30th October with "La parola canta", show-concert included in round D - other routes.
