Smiting is the Festival of Unconventional Culture whete the surreal creativity, irony and nonsense are used to demystify the pre-ordered canons with a smile.
Theme of 2018: "Unlost in Translation / Noio volevam savoir - I know my chicken". This ninth edition of the Festival takes place around the theme of communication beyond the language barrier. We will start from the words hidden in foreign songs.
Exceptional guest: the Australian musician Mick Harvey for a unique Italian date with his special project about Serge Gainsbourg on May 5 at the Novelli Theater exclusively for the Smiting Festival of Rimini.
On May 11th, the Smiting Movie event is organized at the Cinema Fulgor with the movie "Smetto quando voglio - Ad Honorem" and other surprises, that will mark the end of the festival in an exhilarating way.

Program: 

Wednesday May 2nd  at Enoteca del Teatro: opening of the Smiting Festival. Free entrance by reservation (max 15 people);
Saturday May 5th at Novelli Theater: special guest Mick Harvey and his project about Serge Gainsbourg. Entrance fee;
Monday May 7th at Settebello Cinema: Smiting Mini Soirée with “Lost in translation” a film by Sofia Coppola. Entrance fee;
Wednesday May 9th at Jammin’ Hostel & Bar: “Meet and Speak - Rimini Language Exchange” to speack different languages. Free entrance;
Friday May 11th at Fulgor Cinema: Smiting Movie with the “Smetto quando voglio - Ad Honorem” film. Entrance fee.
