“Attila” is a work by Giuseppe Verdi, a libretto by Temistocle Solera based on the tragedy “Attila, König der Hunnen” by Zacharias Werner.
Francesco Maria Piave made some changes to the libretto at the request of Verdi.
The show is broadcasted live from the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. Riccard Chailly will perform Attila by inserting in the first act, between duet and trio, five bars composed by Rossini when he directed the opera in Paris in 1865, in private form.
