27 January is the international memorial day commemorating the tragedy of the Holocaust that occurred during the Second World War.
On 27 January 1945, Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Nazi concentration and death camp, was liberated by the Red Army.
Also in Rimini, the commemorative ceremony takes place at the monument dedicated to the victims of the Nazi concentration camps and of all the prisons, in the presence of civil and military authorities, representatives of the associations and a representation of students from the schools of Rimini that will present readings, reflections and testimonies. 'Reflections on the human and the inhuman' is the central idea this year; in fact in addition to the memorial ceremony, initiatives and events will take place on the theme, such as follow-up meetings and films.
