Eleven musicians from Rimini with different backgrounds (rock, blues, country, folk) join together to pay tribute to the disc, "We Shall Overcome: the Seeger Sessions", by Bruce Springsteen and to the American traditional music.
The performance aims to be a trip to the roots of folk music: dixieland, blues, country, spirituals, bluegrass, American soul, with a music group that includes drums, bass, banjo, guitar, piano, accordion, horn, flutes, violin and voices.
The concert is an engaging tour through the songs of Pete Seeger, Woody Guthrie, Bruce Springsteen, The Band, Bob Dylan (recent Nobel prize), and it tells a story that joins the dusty streets of Jack Kerouac, John Steinbeck Jack Fante, to the vision of Louis Armstrong and Pete Seeger's protest.
Special guests of the concert will be: the bluesman from Milan, Daniele Tenca, the violinist Federico Mecozzi (member of the band Ludovico Einaudi), Marco Betti with his harmonica , the songwriter (this time as a storyteller) Andrea Amati, and the duo Hernandez & Sampedro who will open the concert.
The performance follows the successful experience of the 18th edition of Glory days in Rimini last September, the ‘Seeger Sessions band’, and proposes an international music event but with a strong Italian and local connotation.
On stage: Marcello Dolci, Elisa Semprini, Matteo De Angeli, Michele Tani (Nashville & Backbones), Paolo Angelini, Francesco Pesaresi, Fabrizio Flisi, Lorenzo Semprini (Miami & The Groovers ) and musicians linked to the Orchestra Lettimi (Elio Lucarelli, Massimo Semprini, Andrea Brugnettini).
The event is organized by the Association Nebraska.
