An extraoedinary evening in the name of music and cinema is on schedule in Rimini in this hot summer. "Beauty will save us" (in Italian “La bellezza ci salverà”) is the title of Maestro Morricone's next concert to be held in Rimini on August 25th 2012 at 21.00 hr in the beautiful setting of Piazzale Federico Fellini.

An event to celebrate the beauty that will be represented by the magnificent compositions of Maestro Morricone. A unique event; for the first time Maestro Morricone will perform in Rimini conducting his film compositions with the original orchestrations with the Roma Sinfonietta orchestra and polyphonic choir with the Soprano voice of Susanna Rigacci.

More than 200 concerts performed around the world: from the first concert at the Arena of Verona in 2002 and the first historic concert at the General Assembly Hall of the UN in New York, to the Royal Albert Hall in London, the Great Hall of the People on Tiananmen Square in Beijing, La Scala Theatre in Milan, St. Mark’s Square in Venice, to Moscow, St Petersburg, Kiev, Mexico, Chile, South Korea, Japan, Spain, Hungary, Morocco, Australia among others. Now it is the turn of Rimini.

The concert will take place in Piazzale Fellini close to the Grand Hotel, place of memory so dear to Federico Fellini and celebrated in Amarcord (Oscar 1975). In this charming scenery Ennio Morricone will conduct 100 musicians and 100 singers presenting his most famous film compositions, such as The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Once upon a time in America, The Untouchables, Cinema Paradiso, Mission, just to name a few of them. There are more than 400 films related to a single name: Ennio Morricone, one of the most famous composers in the contemporary music scene.

Cinema and Music, Frames and Notes: a harmonious agreement between the music art of Maestro Morricone and the art of another great Master, Federico Fellini, of whom Rimini was his hometown.

An opportunity not to be missed, a chance to appreciate music as a language with strong communicative and evocative power, which captures the scene and awakes emotion.

Special guest of the evening the famous Italian actress CLAUDIA CARDINALE, in Rimini for a long week-end of cinema that will start on Thursday 23rd with the national preview of the film “Diventare italiano con la signora Enrica" - Become Italian with Mrs.Enrica - (Turkey 2010) and, on the following day, with the projection of the masterpiece "Once upon a time in the West", where Mrs Cardinale was the protagonist. Biography
:
Ennio Morricone was born in Rome 10th November 1928.
His long artistic career includes a wide range of composition genres, from absolute music to applied music, working as orchestrator as well as conductor and then as a composer for theatre, radio and cinema.
Morricone’s music production includes over 100 compositions written from 1946 to nowadays. His career as a composer of film music began in 1961 and since then Morricone has worked with more than over 400 film directors, both Italian and international.

Ennio Morricone has conducted many orchestras worldwide, including the Orchestra of the Santa Cecilia Academy for many symphonic seasons.
He has also conducted the Philharmonic Orchestra and Chorus of La Scala Theatre, the Rome Opera House Orchestra, the Budapest Opera House Orchestra, the Orquesta Nacionales de España (ONE), the National Brazilian Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Bavarian Radio Munich Rundfunk, the London Symphony Orchestra, the Bulgarian Symphony Orchestra and the Orchestra and Chorus of the Spanish Television.
Morricone often works with the Roma Sinfonietta Orchestra for many concerts both in Italy and abroad as well as for the recordings of film music.

In his long career, Ennio Morricone has received many awards: 8 Nastri D’argento, 5 Baftas, 5 Oscar Nominations, 7 David di Donatello, 3 Golden Globes, 1 Grammy Award, 1 European Film Award and also the Golden Lion and the Honorary Oscar.

In the recording field, Morricone has received 27 Golden Records, 7 Platinum Records, 3 Golden Plates and the “Critica discografica” award for the music of the film “Il Prato”. The soundtrack from the film The Good, The Bad and The Ugly has been included in the list of inductees for the Grammy Hall of Fame 2009.
