Across the sea of desire it is the inaugural show of the XXXIX Edition of the "Meeting for Friendship among peoples”,which takes place from August 19th to 25th at the Rimini Fair, whose title is: 'The forces that move history are the same that make man happy'.

The show, freely inspired by "La Scarpetta di raso" (The satin slipper- original title Le soulier de satin), by Paul Claudel, is a new theatre production that will be held in one of the most evocative, natural and historical settings in the city of Rimini, the square on the water near the Tiberius Bridge. Directed by Otello Cenci, the opening show of the Meeting offers a great fresco of life, freely inpired by the drama "La Scarpetta di Raso", a work by one of the greatest contemporary writers and poets, Paul Claudel, less known than his other masterpieces, which the kermesse of Rimini will present for the first time in Italy. A show that, with what Claudel defined his spiritual testament, celebrates, in an original way, the 150th anniversary of the birth of the great Frenchman. An exciting theatrical event and a thrilling love story, where the protagonist, Donna Prohuéze, linked by her marriage to Don Pélage, is attracted by the passion for Rodrigue, but she decides to entrust her slipper in the hands of the Virgin so that She indicates her the way to go ....
