Visitors can either take a bus or a pleasant bicycle ride to get to this locality situated between two bridges, one over the harbour canal and the other one over the diverting canal of the Marecchia River, in a protected inlet and insulated by a row of reefs.
The borough San Giuliano is divided into two parts: the ancient historic centre called "Borgo" and represented in Fellini's film "Amarcord", with its narrow streets and small houses, and the Marina, the new part with hotels and the New Wet Docks "Marina di Rimini". A lively atmosphere, created by the tourist committee, prevails primarily on the beach or in Briolini Park (equipped with children's games) where everyone can enjoy "fish roasts", festivals and concerts.
The promenade (Via Ortigara) is the central meeting place, particularly in the evening, where there are fish restaurants, pizzerias, bars and shops that are open until late at night.
Not to forget the promenade at the new Dock, the avant-garde tourist harbour "Marina di Rimini", which has soon turned into the most suitable location for cultural, social and sports events in Rimini.

The prestigious new complex called "La Prua" (The Bow) rises just in front of the dock. It consists of a series of spectacular buildings housing shops, offices, clubs and restaurants with an exceptional view of the most elegant part of the Rimini Riviera.
Quite characteristic is the "Lungofiume degli Artisti", the cycle path that winds from Piazza della Balena, to the sea, up Via Coletti, decorated with colorful murals that tell the story of this place: from the history of beached sperm whale to German tourists, together with dialect poems. The riverfront presents itself today as an outdoor art gallery with works by famous painters from Rimini who worked for free coordinated by Giuliano Maroncelli.
