On 12th July 1912  the architect from Bologna, Giuseppe Gualandi, started the building of a new church following the neogothic style in an area of "Rimini Marina" which  at that time was almost unsettled....

Between 1921 and  1925 the interior side is completed  with the realization of the main portal, the decorations, the stained-glass windows by Fabbri di Bologna, the forniture, the altars (altare del S. Cuore and  S. Giuseppe on Gualandi's project), and so on.  The Bell Tower was build between August 1939 and the following Summer 1940.
