13th edition of Rimini international short film festival

Thirteenth edition of Amarcort Film Festival, dedicated to short films and in honour of Federico Fellini. Because of the health emergency situation, it will take place entirely online on the website www.amarcort.it.
For the occasion, a Committee has been set up with the participation of important personalities from the cinema and the cultural world such as: the directors Gianfranco Angelucci and Alessandro Benvenuti, the playwright and director Ugo Chiti, the director and granddaughter of Fellini Francesca Fabbri Fellini, the mayor of Rimini Andrea Gnassi, the film critic Maurizio Porro, the director and film critic Mario Sesti, the international star Donald Sutherland and the actress Milena Vukotic.
Three  will be the weeks dedicated to the festival. From 24 to 30 November, shorts by schools with the greeting of the Minister of Education Lucia Azzolina.
During the first week the traditional pre-festival appointment with “Around the world in 80 shorts” will not be missing. On Wednesday 25 November from 9.00 pm the best 10 short films, not selected as finalists at Amarcort 2020, will be screened and voted once again by the public. The first classified of the evening has the chance to become a finalist in Amarcort 2020, while the second classified becomes a finalist in "Around the world in 80 shorts".
From 1 to 6 December: the real competition begins with the screening of finalist films included in several categories and appointments with experts touching important issues in this period of pandemic.
The third week, from 7 to 13 December, proposes other sections in competition and a special selection of short films made by the students of the USC School of Cinematic Arts in Los Angeles.
This year Amarcort could not fail to celebrate a great anniversary connecting Rimini and the world: the birth centenary of Federico Fellini to whom this festival is inspired. The main event will be on Saturday 12 December with a set at the Grand Hotel which will host live shows with prestigious guests. But the Festival also pays homage to another great personality in the Romagna territory: Tonino Guerra. The documentary “Buongiorno, tira il vento" ("Good morning, the wind blows") by Mikheil Mrevlishvili will be screened on the same day, followed by a talk-show on the latest short film "La Fellinette" with the participation of Francesca Fabbri Fellini and Milena Vukotic, Sergio Bustric, Ivano Marescotti.
Saturday 12 December is also the day of the awards ceremony for "A Fellinian in the world" which this year will go to the great illustrator and cartoonist Milo Manara who illustrated Fellini's screenplays "Journey to Tulum" and "The journey of G. Mastorna", as well as the poster of “La Voce della Luna”, to which Amarcort Film Festival is dedicated this year. For the occasion, Milo Manara will be interviewed by Vincenzo Mollica.
