Fellinianno 2013: a year full of celebrations

Exhibitions, meetings, movies and documentaries, launches of publications, performances, for a calendar of events dedicated to Federico Fellini
Fellinianno 2013 – Second part: Autumn
From 26th October to 6th January, the initiatives dedicated to Fellini will keep on taking place in Rimini, with a series of initiatives such as exhibitions, meetings, seminars, movies and documentaries, launches of publications, performances and much more with the participation of famous people who shared a collaboration or even a friendship with the “Maestro”.

So, on Saturday 26th October, the second part of “Fellinianno 2013“, the annual project promoted by the Municipality of Rimini in order to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of Fellini's death, will start with the inauguration of the exhibition “I disegni di Federico Fellini dal Libro dei sogni” (Fellini’s drawnings contained in the Book of Dreams) at the Palazzo del Podestà.

THE PROGRAMME

The exhibition of Fellini’s drawnings from The Book of Dreams
The exhibition, ideated by Felice Laudadio, the master of Bif&st in Bari, and by Francesca Fabbri Fellini, Federico’s niece, shows one of the countless possible ways of immersion into the surprising abyss of images, feelings and suggestions which is Federico Fellini’s Book of Dreams. The result is a new path containing different themes and representing in a hundred tables (size 50x35cm) some pages from the great Album of the “fellinian” unconscious, which has been permanently on show at the City Museum for more than a year.
The exhibition, sponsored by Fondazione Apulia Film Commission, will be open ‘till 6th January 2014.
Opening time: from Tuesday to Sunday; 10am-1pm, 4pm-7.30pm; closed on Mondays; free entrance. Exceptionally closed from 17th to 27th November.

“Viva Fellini” / A documentary
On Monday 28th October (at 9pm, free entrance), at the Municipal Film Library - Cineteca-, it will be broadcasted the documentary about Fellini by Nevio Casadio. Casadio gathered some special contents in his movie, putting together repertoires and live filming, interviews and amateur movies, reflections and anecdotes.
With the participation of Casadio, Francesca Fabbri Fellini (Fellini’s niece) and the Councillor of Culture of Rimini Massimo Pulini.

“Lo sceicco bianco” / Fellini and Sordi
On Tuesday 29th October, at the Cineteca (at 9pm, free entrance), “Fellinianno 2013” autumn program will meet the first event of “AlbertOne”, by San Marino Film Festival, a tribute to the roman actor Alberto Sordi, who starred in Fellini’s movie “Lo sceicco bianco”.
“AlbertOne” calendar is made up by other three shows, broadcasted at the Cineteca: “Una vita difficile” by Dino Risi (5th November), “Fumo di Londra” by Alberto Sordi (12th November), and “Il maestro di Vigevano” by Elio Petri (19th November).

31st October: The twenty year anniversary of Fellini’s death: the short movie, the commemoration, the exposition at Teatro Galli, the remembrance.
The initiatives on the occasion of the very day of Fellini’s death anniversary will be four:
- At 10.30am, at Teatro degli Atti: “Agenzia matrimoniale” (16’), filmed sixty years ago by Fellini for “L’amore in città”, a movie divided in episodes and required by Cesare Zavattini who attempted to enlist the “Maestro” among the followers of Neorealism. Amarcord Film Festival will welcome this work.
- At 12am, at the Cimitero Monumentale, there will be the Commemoration Ceremony, in front of the “Grande prua”, a monumental grave by Arnaldo Pomodoro which represents the head of a ship, and under which Fellini, his wife Giulietta Masina and their son Federichino (who died just few days after being born) are buried.
- At 6pm, Teatro Galli will host the inauguration of the exhibition named “Fellini all’opera”, by Mario Battella with the collaboration of Erasmo Masetti and Giuseppe Ricci. The exposition will have a surprising form: the rooms and the pieces of the theatre will become a kaleidoscopic scene, a great magic lantern in which “fellinian” visions and dreams come to life, thanks to interpreters and artist of images, sounds and words and their works: “Federico Fellini. I libri” by Rosita Copioli; “Unfinished Fellini” by Marco Bertozzi, Massimo Salvucci and Andrea Felli; the kinematictriptych by David Loom; “Le parti non vere” by Diego Zuelli; the project “Il visionario è l’unico vero realista/2” by Ambra Galassi, Giacomo De Luca, Andrea Marini, Stefano Aguzzini, Andrea Felli and Angela Piegari.
The exposition will be open ‘till 6th January, from Tuesday to Sunday, 10am-1pm; 4pm-7.30pm, closed on Monday.
-At 9pm at Teatro degli Atti, it will be showed “In morte di Federico Fellini”, a special movie by Sergio Zavoli in which the journalist and friend to Fellini collected the shootings of the big amount of people who marched at Teatro 5 in Cinecittà and in Cavour Square on the occasion of Fellini’s death.
After the movie, Zavoli will have a dialogue with the writer Piero Meldini and the Mayor of Rimini Andrea Gnassi.

“Seguendo la nave di Fellini” / The backstage
On Friday 22nd November, at 9pm at the Cineteca, it will be showed the documentary “Seguendo la nave” by Ferruccio Castronuovo, who collaborated with Fellini for more than ten years. Castronuovo filmed the backstage of “La nave va” by Fellini, catching in his shooting not only the “Maestro” and the genesis of the movie, but also all the collaborators who were busy in finding new scenic tricks and technical inventions.
Ferruccio Castronuovo himself will be present at the meeting.

“Segreti e bugie di Federico Fellini” / The book
On Friday 6th December, at 9pm in the Sala del Giudizio of the City Museum, there will be the presentation of “Segreti e bugie di Federico Fellini”, the latest book by Gianfranco Angelucci in which he tells about his long friendship with Federico Fellini in a colloquial and fresh style. At the meeting there will also be the writer Marco Missiroli.

“L’altro Fellini” / Fellini’s brother, Riccardo
On Sunday 15th December, at 9pm, Teatro degli Atti will host the showing of “L’altro Fellini”, a documentary by Stefano Bisulli and Roberto Naccari about Federico’s younger brother, Riccardo, whose ambitions were shattered because of his own surname after his first movie “Storie sulle sabbia”.
The two directors will be present at the event.

“Lingue di Federico” / The show
On Saturday 21st December, at 9pm at the Surgeon’s Domus, a show from the conference “Le lingue di Fellini” with Mirco Gennari, Francesca Airaudo, Giorgia Penzo e Francesco Tonti, an event tagged “Biblioterapia 2013” and belonging to Fabio Bruschi project “Lingue di confine”.

“Il cavalcavia” / The urban intervention: the flyover
By the end of October, the flyover of Statale 16, at the cross of Marecchiese street, will be decorated by a series of panels inspired to Fellini’s movies.
