The Sagra Musicale Malatestiana confirms the aim to promote creativity research by young groups, and invite them to face the musical theatre in a different mode.
A great baroque festival comes to life in the production of this year, inspired by the performance which was staged four centuries ago in Florence, where the five musical interludes by Domenico Belli, inspired by the myth of Orpheus, were spaced out by representation of the tale 'Aminta' by Torquato Tasso.
To give new emphasis to the alternation between the poetry by Tasso and the music by Belli, the production has been entrusted to two video artists, Daniele Spanò and Luca Brinchi, with the dramaturgical collaboration by Erika Z. Galli and Martina Ruggeri of the collective ‘Industria Indipendente’. The setting of the performance is the oscillation between the real and the virtual world, involving singers and musicians of the Ensemble Arte Musica conducted by Francesco Cera, who for the first time in modern times, and with original instruments, will propose the seventeenth-century composition by Domenico Belli.
