The traditional jazz & swing festival returns in Rimini after a break in 2016:
On schedule there are three great concerts on stage at the Novelli Theatre, performed by important Italian and European musicians.
The sixteenth edition of the Rimini Festival, which has since years been one of the important national appointments of jazz, brings once again on stage the passion of the African-American music and its origins.
The program proposes sounds ranging from ragtime and manouche to the swinging jazz music of Chicago performed by great orchestras such as the Lino Patruno Jazz Show, the Hot Club Roma Orchestra and a concert of traditional roman jazz performed by musicians selected from Rimini Dixieland Jazz Band and the Ambassador Marching Band.
The event is organized by the cultural association in Rimini, ‘Amici del Jazz’, in collaboration with the Department of Culture of the Emilia-Romagna Region.

Remembering Vittorio Corcelli

Tribute to to the founder of Rimini Jazz Festival by Rimini Dixieland Jazz Band and Ambassador Marching Band

The opening concert of Rimini Jazz 2017 will be an occasion to remember Vittorio Corcelli, the founder of the festival, who has recently disappeared. Corcelli was a great swing musician and a show man, as well as president of Rimini's association ‘Amici di Jazz’.
To pay homage to Vittorio Corcelli, a selection of musicians from the Rimini Dixieland Jazz Band and the Ambassador Marching Band, the two most representative orchestras of traditional jazz in Romagna, will be on stage in a New Orleans styled concert.

Rimini Jazz 2017 pays tribute to Django Reinhardt

Concert by the Hot Club Roma Orchestra

The Hot Club Roma Orchestra, created by guitarist Gianfranco Malorgio, performs usually as a small group, but in Rimini the orchestra will perform in an extended mode with seven musicians.
The orchestra, specialized in manouche style, the gypsy jazz, will pay tribute to Django Reinhardt, the protagonist of this sound of jazz, that marked the European jazz music between the 1930s and 40s.

Lino Patruno Jazz Show

The traditional jazz is on stage in the last concert of Rimini Jazz 2017

The final concert of Rimini Jazz 2017 is entrusted to the Lino Patruno Jazz Show.
Lino Patruno is a real Italian ambassador of traditional jazz, and he has always been a friend of the festival of jazz in Rimini, where he has often partecipate.
Patrono has been an Italian protagonist of cabaret since the 1960s, and he is a wellknown as to the numerous successful television programs where he has participated in various roles (conductor, producer, musician).
Lino Patruno is nowadays the most famous Italian jazz musician and the music in his show ranges from dixieland to the Chicago's jazz style, performed in a contemporary mode that does not alter the historical roots.
