Summer is here and as tradition returns also ”Percuotere la mente”, the music summer festival within the calendar of the event Sagra Musicale Malatestiana Festival.
There are scheduled five concerts from 2nd to 30th July – on stage in the suggestive Corte degli Agostiniani – with music that range from Italian singer songwriters to the English new music experiences.
The Italian singer songwriter, Paola Turci, will open the festival 2nd July in a concert within the program of La Notte Rosa, the Pink Night 2015. She presents her new album "Io sono" which contains twelve songs of her repertoire, all completely rearranged, together with three new songs written by Francesco Bianconi of Baustelle and Pippo Rinaldi Kaballà.
The festival continues Friday 10th July with Stefano Bollani in "Piano Solo", a performance that runs through the history of jazz and reveals the unique personality of this great musician.
A discovery of the music’s roots is what the Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio will propose on Thursday 16th July - a tour "around the world in 80 minutes”. The multi-ethnic orchestra was born in 2002 as a project aimed to enhance the Esquilino district in Rome, an area where people from worldwide live together.
Friday 24th July will be on stage Anna Calvi, a songwriter and guitarist who in a short time has obtained a space within the contemporary music field. She will present "One Breath" accompanied by Mally Harpaz (harmonium percussion vibraphone), Alex Thomas (drums) and Ben Christophers (keyboard).
In the last performance of the festival, Thursday 30th July, is entrusted to Brian Auger's Oblivion Express - a group founded by the master of acid jazz and the fusion pioneer, Brian Auger. Alex Ligertwood is the voice of the band and the concert gives the opportunity to see on stage the LOG2, perhaps the only tribute band to Brian Auger.
