The new season of opera live at the cinema starts with the opera Norma by Vincenzo Bellini, from the Royal Opera House, conducted by Antonio Pappano and directed by Àlex Ollé.
This classical opera by Bellini, divided into two acts, is renowned for the aria ‘Casta diva’, performed by Norma, in which she is dedicating a prayer to the moon to bring them peace.
In the cast of the new production there are: the soprano Sonya Yoncheva as Norma, Joseph Calleja as the secret lover Pollione, Sonia Ganassi in the role of the priestess Adalgisa and Brindley Sherratt as Norma's father, Oroveso.
