From Cesena to Rimini - (Cesena - Savignano - San Vito - Rimini)

In the night between 11th and 12th Jabuary 49 a.C. Julius Caesar, came to the Rubicon with the Legio XIII Gemina. Here he uttered the famous words, "alea iacta est , the die is cast": this time changed the fate of Rome and the world. A historical re-enactment starts from Cesena on Friday 17th June. It is conceived and organized by the Association Legio XIII Gemina and by the archaeologist Cristina Ravara Montebelli. The project is ambitious: a group of 8 Legionaries (contubernium) in full running order, will travel  the Via Emilia in three days, departing from Cesena and arriving in Rimini on Sunday afternoon. The marchers will spend their nights in the camps, where other teams of legionaries wait for them at the Compito Museum and at San Vito Bridge. Tese two camps can be visited by the public, with educational tours and entertainment according to the program. To reconcile antiquity with modernity, the march and all related events will be documented by drones and video. The material will be used to make a documentary about the event, integrated with historical content, on the presence of Giulio Cesare in Rimini. This documentary is included among the objectives of a campaign klickstarter launched byCristina Ravara Montebelli, for the publication of a book entitled "Julius Caesar in Rimini: the history changer), in italian and english language, along with a documentary film on the march.
