In the Gambalunga Library a double appointment is proposed to celebrate Federico Fellini's birthday: a book presentation and a documentary film by the writer Andrea De Carlo.
At 5.30 pm in the Sala Antiche of the Gambalunga Library, Andrea De Carlo will present “L'imperfetta meraviglia”, his new novel that alternates the rhythm of rock, the lightness of the comedy, and the depth of the time that everything changes and modifies.
The book presentation will be followed at 9 pm by the screening of the documentary film produced by De Carlo in 1983, “Le facce di Fellini” (Fellini's faces)

Period of development:
Friday 20th January 2017
Time:
at 5.30 book presentation; at 9 pm screening of the documentary film
Additional notes:

Andrea De Carlo was born in Milan and after graduating in Contemporary History he dedicated his time to travelling, living for long periods in the United States and Australia. His first novel, “Treno di panna”, was published with an introduction by Italo Calvino. He worked with Federico Fellini and Michelangelo Antonioni. His novels have been sold in millions of copies and translated into twenty-six languages.

He worked as assistant director in the film "E la nave va" by Federico Fellini, and in the last days of the shooting, De Carlo began to make a film in 16 mm. with a small cast of the film set and in different places of Cinecittà. A journey behind the scenes of the set, which shows Fellini and his staff at work. De Carlo investigates in a discreet and delicate way the complex and contradictory relationship that existed between the director and the actors. The cast of "E la nave va", was made up by actors chosen for their artistic talents, or just for their physical characteristics that caught the creative imagination of Fellini: from London theatre professionals, to non professionals Neapolitans.
Once finished " E la nave va", the documentary film was screened at Cinefonico Cinecittà at the presence of the director Fellini, and some time later in Saint Vincent, on the occasion of an exhibition dedicated to him. Then the film disappeared mysteriously. Now it can be rediscovered by the audience in Rimini, introduced by the voice of its author.
