The city of Rimini pays tribute to the great director Federico Fellini with a month of initiatives dedicated to the celebration of the 40th anniversary of his film 'Il Casanova' on the occasion of his 23rd death anniversary.
In the rich calendar there are scheduled a series of meetings and an entire day of study on the film 'Il Casanova' and on the various artistic languages used by Fellini, in collaboration with the Bologna University, Campus Rimini (26th October at the Teatro degli Atti).
On Thursday 27th October it is the turn of the concert-film 'Zoroastro - Io Casanova' an original production by Gianni Di Capua based on the tragic opera by Jean Philippe Rameau, with libretto by Louis de Cahusac. The film was realized last year in the suggestive setting of the Galli Theatre in Rimini (projection at the Cinema Tiberio at 9pm).
On 31st October, the 23rd anniversary of Federico Fellini’s death is celebrated with the screening of the restored version of the original film 'Il Casanova' - 1976, with Donald Sutherland (Rimini film Library at 8.30pm).
The screening will be preceeded by a conversation with Gianfranco Angelucci and Leda Lojodice on the film (appointment at 5.30 pm in the ancient rooms of the Library) and for the occasion a manuscript page by Fellini  will be presented to the public. The page, recently recovered by Rimini Municipality, belongs to the Book of Dreams, on display in the City Museum. The recovered paper is dated "29/10/1961" and on the front it depicts a gigantic Anita Ekberg, as she will later appear in the nightmare sequence of The Temptation of Dr. Antonio, an episode of Fellini's collective film Boccaccio '70. On the back of the sheet it is transcribed one of the few dreams in which his brother Riccardo appears represented during a gymnastic exercise on the rings  together with their father Urbano and a little Federico.
Not to be missed is the exhibition with photos, costumes and objects used on the set of the film 'Il Casanova' on show at the city Museum (21st October - 27th December).

15 October to 11th November 2016
