“FESTIVAL DEL MARE” is a traveling event to discover the fishing fleet and the fish products of the region Emilia-Romagna.
During the initiatives organized within the Festival del Mare the public will be able to attend - for free - guided tours, tastings, workshops, show cooking, to know and appreciate the products and culture of the Adriatic sea. The “Società de Borg” has taken charge of the organization of the Faro event in Rimini, proposing a rich calendar of initiatives: films, guided tours and experiences that will anticipate the “Faro“ event (main event), that is  the Festa de Borg on 1st and 2nd September 2018 in Borgo San Giuliano.
On July 23rd: documentary film 'Rimini - Lampedusa - Italia' (2004), by the film director from Rimini, Marco Bertozzi.
In the early morning of July 24th, meeting at 5:00 am for a guided tour of the largest Adriatic fish market, located in via Sinistra del Porto, in one of the last days of activity before the usual summer close of the fishing season. After the tour a breakfast will be offered in the fishermen's bar below the headquarters of the cooperative.
On Friday 27th:  guided tour of the Indoor Market in via Castelfidardo where the retail sale takes place. Visitors will be introduced to the best methods of processing and preparing fish by fishermen and by a chef from an important restaurant in Rimini. The guided tours continue on Monday 7th August at the Maritime Museum of Rimini, and on Saturday 25th August with the guided tour on the Motopeschereccio (Fishing boat), to watch the fishermen at work.
On Wednesday, August 1st the PESCA ALLA TRATTA (bottom-trawling) will take place, a fishing technique in use at our coast in the '50s.
On Saturday 18th August the 'Vele al Terzo' Association organizes a navigation experience with their typical sailing boats.
