The 69th edition of the Malatesta Music Festival in Rimini opens with a project dedicated to Karklheinz Stockhausen, a twentieth century musical genius and two visionary works: Aus den sieben Tagen (From the seven days) and Tierkreis (Zodiac). A very original goal of freedom, rigour and improvisation, the cycle of fifteen compositions will involve the guitarist Magnus Andersson, the trombonist John Kenny, the baritone Nicholas Isherwood, the cellist Rohan de Saram, the flutist Roberto Fabbriciani, all prestigious names of the contemporary music scene. This work - proposed fifty years after its creation - is accompanied by Tierkreis, another musical cycle imagined by Stockhausen, this time assigning a different melody to each of the twelve zodiac signs. For the new production of the Malatesta Music Festival, the Zodiac sequence will be presented in the version for voice and piano entrusted to Elisa Prosperi and Amadea Lässig, young performers who won the New Music Project 2017, promoted by the San Marino International Summer Courses.
On the opening day of the Malatesta Music Festival, at 7pm it will be presented in preview, at the Libreria Riminese “ The musical wanderer”, a volume of posthumous writings by Mario Bortolotto, just published by the Adelphi publishing house.
