The mind, the heart and the body: these are the three focuses of the initiatives that Rimini Municipality has defined to celebrate the anniversary of birth of an important figure in Rimini's history, symbolically linked to the Malatesta Temple, the Sismondo Castle and the City.
The calendar, that began 19th June to celebrate Sigismondo Malatesta's birthday, continues throughout the year and beyond, until 9th October 2018, which is the 550th anniversary of his death. The program combines culture, leisure and sport initiatives to animate the new spaces, the city and the territory, which are ideally related to the project of urban requalification that began 2011,
During the summer, a series of initiatives and events have been proposed, such as exhibitions, conventions, concerts and other events.
Until 29th October there is possible to visit the exhibition 'Ladies, Cavaliers, Arms and Motors', a comparison between the suits of today's motor riders with the armours of the Renaissance knights in the foyer of the Galli Theater.
From December, the FAR gallery will host the photo exhibition 'Lumen': the reliefs by Agostino di Duccio in the Chapel of the Planets in the Malatesta Temple, photographed in candlelight.
The concerts of the Sagra Malatestiana Music Festival, 'Musics for Sigismondo', continue with two concerts in the suggestive setting of the Sismondo Castle.
In the Sismondo Castle is also proposed a studying convention, from 27th to 29th October, 'Difesa e vita quotidiana nelle fortezze dal medioevo all’età moderna’ (Defense and daily life in fortresses from the Middle Ages to the Modern Age) organized by Istituto Italiano dei Castelli.
In addition, at the City Museum, Wednesday 15th November, there is scheduled a lectio magistralis, 'L’amore del tempo di Sigismondo’ (Love in Sigismondo's Era), held by Massimo Ciavolella, University of California in Los Angeles.

The MotoGP meet the celebration of Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta's 600 years of birth

The exhibition, opened on the occasion of MotoGP, displays the official motors of the main MotoGP teams, helmets and suits of the champions, studied and designed by Aldo Drudi.
This time they are proposed in a special mode: in a meeting with the celebration of the 600 years of Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta's birth.
The exhibition, curated by Elisa Tosi Brandi and Thessy Schoenholzer Nichols, proposes a comparison of the hi tech suits of the today's motor riders with the armours of the Renaissance knights, along with original documents, analyzes and some important historical considerations together with the most up-to-date proposals in the sector of motor bike sport.
The antique and the contemporary clothes interact with each other, highlighting the beauty of medieval tailoring solutions, which has inspired the fashion and sportswear of the future. Exemples are the leather doublets made by Spidi Sport on models of the fifteenth century, including that by Pandolfo III, and the suits by Aldo Drudi inspired on the armour of the late Middle Ages, from which the designer has taken ideas, creating safety quality suits.
