The Sleeping Beauty is one of the most famous productions of classical ballet by Marius Petipa with music by Tchaikovsky, inspired by the tale of Charles Perrault.
The 19th century Petipa’s choreography is combined with the creations of Frederick Ashton, Anthony Dowell and Christopher Wheeldon bringing the audience into the enchanted world of princesses, fairies and spells.
Sleeping Beauty holds a special place in the Royal Ballet repertoire. It reopened the Royal Opera House in 1946 after the Second World War.
