Things to do in Rimini 2017


A year of initiatives and events in Rimini to note in the diary. The calendar offers music, art, culture, cinema, sport, tradition, wine and food, but also shows, conventions and exhibitions. Large and small events for 12 months full of excitement.

Rimini presents the show schedule of 100 events dotted throughout 2017

The Summer appointments will kick off with the Easter events with the Frisbee Beach Ultimate World Cup, ‘Paganello on the beach’ (15th to 17th April) and the new entry, the touring festival dedicated to quality street food, STREEAT® Food Truck Festival (14 th – 17th April), continuing with the second edition of Music Inside Rimini, the great music event, from 7th to 9th May, which brings together the entire professional market of lighting technology, audio, clubbing and international DJs. Music Inside Festival features live musical performances with an exclusive selection of world-famous DJs such as Paul Kalkbrenner, Chris Liebing, Jackmaster, Len Faki, Loco Dice, Matthias Tanzmann, Patrick Topping, Ralf, Sam Paganini, Sasha Carassi, Serge Devant, Sven Väth, The Martinez Brothers and many others.

On schedule there are also the events organized by the Spiagge Rimini Network that opens the season with ‘a sea view', Piacere Spiaggia Rimini (29th April – 1st May) to continue with ‘A sea of wine’ (27th July) and ‘A sea of fire’ (15th August).

Other events 'on the beach' are in calendar along the beach promenade Tintori,  beach area 34: here Kennedy Cake organizes outdoor events, such Rimini Wellness Off (3rd- 4th June), side event of the biggest festival dedicated to fitness, wellness, sports and healthy eating or  Belvedere Beach Festival, on the occasion of the summer New Year’s Day (7th- 9th July).

Great live concerts with prestigious names of Italian music are proposed in the coming months with Giorgia (15th April) and Ligabue (4th September), along with the fourth edition of the great rock event, Rose & Crown Summer Festival (14th to 23rd July), with nine evenings of concerts and internationally important guests.

Ballroom dances will be celebrated during the ‘Notte del Liscio (10th June ), while prestigious music appointments are proposed by the Sagra Musicale Malatestiana (Malatesta Music Festival) with prestigious conductors and symphonic orchestras and its pre-festival dedicated to new sounds, Percuotere la Mente - Beat the Mind (7th June to 24th August).

The Summer edition of the longest New Year’s  celebration returns even this year with the Pink Night, Notte Rosa, (7th – 9th July), preceded by the Molo Street Parade (24thJune) with Fishermen and DJs who come together to serve up music and sardines .

Not to be missed are the events dedicated to food, such as the meeting of great chefs, led by Massimo Bottura, and the producers around and inside the market circus 'Al Meni' (17th-18th June) and the second edition of the European Market (19th to 21st May) that will bring the street food of Europe in Piazzale Fellini.

In June cultural events focus on the celebrations of the 600th anniversary of Sigismondo Pandolfo Malatesta's birthday. A series of events dedicated this historic figure will continue until October 2018, when the 550th anniversary of his death will be remembered.  The initiative aims to be an opportunity to discover art, history and culture in Rimini.

The 2017 is also the year of the tenth anniversary of the opening to the public of the ‘Domus del Chirurgo’, the archaeological site of the Surgeon's House, opened on 7th December 2007. The Ancient World Festival, now in its nineteenth edition, embraces the celebration of the anniversary, postponing the festival in the month of December, 7th to 9th.

As to Sport events, there are a lot of appointments, from Rimini Marathon (29th-30th April), to Challenge Rimini – we are Triathlon  (5th to 7thMay), the International Tchoukball festival in Viserba (5th-7th May),  up to Sportdance (9th-20th July) and others.

The calendar of the events in Rimini also contains proposals aimed to highlight the excellences of the hinterland with a focus dedicated to the 'special events' in the Marecchia and Conca valleys during the current year.
