Piadina Romagnola

You can’t leave Rimini without first having tasted a real piadina from Rimini. In the city there are dozens of kiosks where it is difficult to resist buying one. Rimini piadina is thinner and more crispy than in other town like Forlì and Ravenna. You can fill it as you like: with ham and mozzarella, wild salad leaves and “squaccherone”, local fresh cheese, and even with chocolate.

The other star of the local cuisine is the Adriatic fish “pesce azzurro”: mackerel, red mullet, mantis prawns, sprats. The "arzdore", the dialect name of the housewife in Romagna, can cook fish soups or grill fish on "focon", the local name of barbeque. And what about the famous wine? Everyone knows: Sangiovese, the red wine that warms the hearts.

To discover the local flavours you can’t miss visiting the market place in via Castelfidardo where you can find is with its 130 business specialized in fish, fruit and vegetables. A traditional place, full of scents and specialties, around which you can also find the best shops of food and wine that make this area the gourmet district of the city.
