In Rimini the summer carries on with many great appointments and opportunities

A rich program of events till the end of September with music, art, culture, sports, tradition, innovation, entertainment, fun and food
In Rimini the rhythm of the summer continues with many events till the end of September. Music of high quality with the Sagra Musicale Malatestiana, the oldest and most prestigious  Music Festival which has welcomed the greatest musicians in the world in more than 60 editions. Also great participation is expected for the Festival of the network (Blogfest 2014), and the Franciscan Festival on schedule at the end of September. In the first week-end of September the Gelato World Tour will be held in Rimini right in the home of an iconic landmark.with a competition that will see twenty-four Worldwide best gelato artisan chefs to compete for the creation of the world’s best gelato flavour. As far as sport is concerned, after the success of the trendy Color Run in August, the seventh edition of the San Marino and Riviera di Rimini Tim Gran Prix (12-14 September) is an appointment not to be missed.


HIGH QUALITY MUSIC IN RIMINI


Till 14th October, the Sagra Musicale Malatestiana in Rimini opens once again its doors to the music hosting famous symphony orchestras, outstanding conductors and soloists of international fame, as well as original projects where music intertwines with other arts. Prestigious orchestras such as the Russian National Orchestra, the Gustav Mahler Youth Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestre National de France and the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin alternate with the directors of the rank of Christoph Eschenbach, Daniele Gatti, Vladimir Jurowski, Marek Janowski and soloists such as Mikhail Pletnev Truls Mork, Anna Vinnitskaya.
In addition, the debut of Motus in musical theater with the world premiere in scenic form of King Arthur, from the drama of John Dryden with music by Henry Purcell and a pianist marathon with Maurizio Baglini dedicated to the visionary scores by Charles Koechlin.


CULTURE, TRADITION AND INNOVATION

The people of the internet will meet in Rimini for the ninth edition of “The Festiva of the network" (BlogFest). From September 12 to 14, the community that create and share using the web for pleasure or for business, meet in Rimini to overcome the "barriers" of the virtual world in a three-day meetings, discussions, workshops, with the awarding of the MIA (Italian Macchianera Awards) that open the doors to Youtubers and Fashion Bloggers too.

In September (26 to 28) in Rimini the Franciscan Festival returns with more than 100 free events. The theme for this edition is: "Free in joy" organized by the Franciscan movement in Emilia-Romagna, and provides guests, workshops and laboratories. In the year of the canonization, Rimini will host the relics of Amato Ronconi, (1225 - 1292 approx), Franciscan tertiary coming from Rimini. The program includes a Franciscan dinner at the Borgo San Giuliano and an entire evening dedicated to buskers.

During the celebrations of the two thousandth anniversary of the Tiberius Bridge, and in memory of Emperor Augustus’ death, Rimini celebrates the event with several initiatives.
This Bridge is actually celebrated during the Festa de 'Borg, a traditional local festival. The ancient village of San Giuliano, once inhabited mostly by fishermen, proposes a cultural and folk festival along the streets and squares of the district, telling his story and that of the bridge on the occasion of his two thousandth anniversary (September 6 and 7).

The City Museum also hosts an exhibition dedicated to Francesca da Rimini, the icon of love and passion, a myth born from the verses of Dante: “Divine Passion” until 28th September presents Francesca da Rimini in the 'Comedies' shown between the fifteenth and twentieth century by Baccio Bandini and Renato Guttuso. In addition on Thursdays afternoon a guided tour starts from the heart of the medieval city and then move to the City Museum, to admire the sixty Comedies on show.

Contemporary art is featured in two art exhibitions: "The myth, the journey, the passion” by Alessandro La Motta in the Surgeon's Domus and Russiart - between dreams and metaphors, an exhibition of contemporary Russian art with the works by three artists from St. Petersburg, on display in Palazzo del Podestà till 14th September.
September in Rimini is the month dedicated to Photography: with "Foto d'Autunno" Rimini presents several exhibitions in spaces and art galleries in its historic center.


SPORT

After the Color Run, the funniest 5 km run of the planet, in Rimini in the month of August and the sport initiative Riviera Beach Games, yet there are many other sport events on schedule, such as the Kickboxing World Championship 2014 that will be held in the 105 Stadium in Rimini from 6 to 14 September 2014 and the Tim Grand Prix of San Marino and the Riviera di Rimini, the event that every year attracts enthusiasts from all over the world and millions of viewers and offers many events inside and outside the track, both before and during the challenges of the Moto GP. In addition the traditional appointment with the international rally reserved to historical cars in Piazzale Fellini, the Nuvolari Grand Prix (Gran Premio Nuvolari) in September (18-21).


PARTY, FESTIVALS AND COMPETITIONS

During the summer, every day Rimini welcomes tourists and visitors by offering them many occasions of entertainment with more than 500 events, organized by the local Tourism Committees.  Until Mid-September a 100 day-long festival will liven up squares, streets and the beach promenade from Torre Pedrera to Miramare with music, folk festival, entertainment and local street markets.


After several international stages, Gelato World Tour arrives in Rimini, the top ice cream district in the world, for the grand finale. The event, which has touched nine cities around the world, organized by Carpigiani Gelato University and Sigep - Rimini, aims to spread the culture of Italian ice cream, an artisan fresh and high quality food. An opportunity for professionals and for the audience who can participate in numerous courses taught by qualified teachers, assist in the creation of undisputed quality ice cream and taste the best of the best in the world. The Ice Cream World Tour ends in Rimini, September 5 to 7, with the award of the title World's Best Ice Cream. The winners of the other stages will compete to declare who will win the title of the World Best Gelato. People can taste the personal creations and vote. Free admission.
