During the longest night of the year, Rimini will offer lots of widespread New Year’s Eve parties, involving both the seaside and the historic centre, full of music, shows, dj sets and “fellinian” suggestions..
The programme of the Longest New Year’s Eve starts on the 1st December and goes on ‘till 6th January: a party which is longer that a month, with more that 150 events. All the music genres will invade the theatres, the squares, the streets, the boroughs and all the place-symbols of the town.
Highlight, as usual, on December 31st with the great concerts broadcast live on Tv (Canale 5 - Mediaset Tv Network) from Fellini square in Rimini with the Italian singers Marco Mengoni and Mario Biondi, who will toast to the new year from the famous square of Rimini.
After winning the Best Italian Act at MTV Awards 2013, Marco Mengoni, the records man of the new Italian music, launched by X Factor and become in few years one of the most loved and followed stars, will be the main guest of the live concert in Fellini Square for the Longest New Year’s Eve Party.
The other special guest of the night is Mario Biondi who will bring on stage ihis greatest hits and all his international experience, which in recent years has led him to collaborate and sing with the biggest names in world of music.
Presenters of the tv programme the actress Serena Autieri and Alvin, TV and radio host with a great experience in the field of music.
Before and after their performance, 150 events will make Rimini the Italian capital of the New Year’s Eve celebrations.
The third edition of the ‘Longest New Year’s Eve Party’ is going to start off. It’s the only Italian programme which is able to offer not only a great event on the night of the 31st December, but also a lot of initiatives which will focus the attention on the city, electing it as a shattered stage, whose main performers are artists of quality.
> Music and Tradition
From 1st December 2013 to 6th January 2014, everyone who chooses Rimini will find a party which concerns more than 150 events, during which the cultural offer and the folk traits of the soul of Rimini go together with the innovation of the contents. A unique occasion to re-discover some peculiar spaces in the town: each corner of Rimini will turn into an innovative open air stage for a month of music, shows, “fellinian” suggestions and great concerts of all the music genres: Christmas carols, nowadays contaminations, evergreens, jazz, folk music, electronic sounds, hip hop. From the afro-soul voice of Imany, the musical revelation of this year (on concert at Novelli theatre on 11th December), to the show with Massimo Ranieri, who presents Viviani Varietà (13th, 14th and 15th December at Novelli theatre). From the great sandy nativity scenes in Marina Centro and Torre Pedrera, to the Ice Village where to ice skate on the seaside. From the Christmas and fellinian initiatives in the historic boroughs, the innovative lab-store Matrioska (7th and 8th December) which will “put on stage”, in the suggestive frame of Malatestian Castle, a researching space with hand-made objects, placing side by side the exposition and the dynamism of the art at 360 degrees, re-interpreting the space with a perfect set-up. Moreover, the dates with Lingue di confine, whose main character is the dialect and which suggests public readings of poems at Mercato Coperto (6th and 13th December) and shows at the Surgeon’s house (21st, 29th and 30th December).
> The New Year’s Eve meets Fellinianno
An event in the event: this year the New Year’s Eve programme crosses the Fellinianno, the year full of initiatives dedicated to Fellini, the “Maestro” from Rimini. 2013 is the year of the anniversary of his death (20 years), and of some of his most famous movies: I vitelloni (60 years), 8 e ½ (50 years), Amarcord (40 years) and E la nave va (39 years).
Because of its success, the exhibition at Galli theatre ‘Fellini all’opera’ will go on ‘till 20th January. Inside a sort of magic lantern, artists and interpreters of images, sounds and words re-write and re-invent Maestro’s photos, books, costumes and shots. During the longest night of this long “fellinian” year, the Galli theatre hosts ‘ONE SHOT/effetto doppler 31.12.2013’, an happening of sound and site specific mood by Nico Note for the exhibition ‘Fellini all’opera’. On 31st December the lights in the Fulgor cinema switch on again and, between the curtains on renovation, the unforgettable characters of Fellini’s movies will get back to life. This construction site is exceptionally open to the public and its set designs magically turn into the stage of the “fellinian” dream.
Also the Cineteca (the film archives) will wait for Midnight with the preview of a movie, and will then suggest a special programme ‘till late at night.
Exceptional opening on San Silvester night at the Podestà Palace with the exhibition “I disegni di Federico Fellini dal Libro dei Sogni” (Fellini's drawings form the Book of dreams).
> One, 100, a thousand New Year’s Eve parties on the 31st December
Following the tradition, 31st December is the clou moment and it starts off with the live concerts in Fellini square with Marco Mengoni and Mario Biondi. A captivating show during which the well known Italian singers will perform their best hits from 9 pm. Free entry.
At Midnight everyone will toast to the New Year under a sky which will be lighted on by the fireworks on the Winter sea.
The night goes on with the ‘widespread New Year’s Eve events’: an ideal ‘Street New Year’ links Marina Centro to the historic centre, invading theatres, squares, streets, boroughs and the main sites of the city. Thanks to Dream Floor – il club onirico, the new modern wing of the City Museum (ex hospital) turns into a large Dancefloor on 27th, 28th, 29th and 31st December, a space both physical and symbolic of that common rite which has always been characterizing the Riviera: the dance.
In the City Museum, from 9.30 pm to 1 am, the magic of the New Year’s Eve meets the art and the past, with a quintet singing in the rooms of the Museum and in the Surgeon's house (exceptionally open ‘till 1 am). Also the FAR, the modern & contemporary Art Factory in Cavour square will be open ‘till 1 am.
In the Agostinian complex (Atti theatre and Pamphili Room), there will be the performance La noche del Barrio: calypso, milonga, bossanova, swing and latin dance will be on from 10 pm ‘till late at night. Another performance in the city center (Spazio Duomo) is ‘La voce rock della luna’, a mix of art and culture in a dance contest and live music.

The whole Cavour Square will be theatre of a dj set wrapped in a Visual Mapping carrying “fellinian” atmospheres, ready to underline each architectural space with suggestions and thoughts created for the event.
> New Year’s Eve at 105 Stadium
The hip-hop singers, Fedez, Two Fingerz and Gué Pequeno, are the main guests of the New Year’s Eve party at 105 Stadium (entrance free payable). Their performances will be spaced out by the well known Radio 105 faces: Max Brigante, Pizza, Ylenia and Dj Giuseppe. The program will start off at 10.30 pm and after the countdown to Midnight the musica show will get to their most lively moment. At the end, Dj Spyne’s set.
> Rimini Movida Pass
For the third year, all the clubs and the pubs of Rimini join in the initiative Rimini Movida Pass, a pass for an unforgettable New Year’s Eve in Marina Centro. It’s a bracelet which allows a free entrance in 7 pubs and discoes + 5 free drink from late afternoon up to 7 am, and on the bus which links the area between the harbour and Gondar Square (connecting the venues along the beach promenade). or the harbour with Cavour square, for those who want to visit the historic centre.
The venues are: Coconuts, Rockisland, Mucho Macho, Rose & Crown, Io Club, The Barge, Bounty.
> The promo-commercialisation
A coordinate communication campaign will focus the attention on the events, through the classic ways (local and national spots, placards, depliants, totem, flags), the web (a specific website, banners, newsletters), and a well organised campaign ideated in order to create the wait for the countless events of the end of the year, increasing the innovative rate of kermesse and its capacity to tell itself through different languages.
For the third year, the Rimini Winter Hotel, born from the synergy of the public administration, Rimini Reservation and tour operators for the promo-commercialisation of Rimini in Winter. RWH can count on a specific communication campaign for the sell of theme packages, packages dedicated to paths among the nativity scenes and the Christmas market, packages for young people, relax and wellness packages. The aim is to complete the offer of the area with the overnight in the hotels of the city. Reduction on train tickets are available for those who buy a package offered by one of the RWH.
