Life on the beach

Rimini beach

In Rimini there are two hundred and fifty beach establishments, all well equipped and regularly renovated. The philosophy is that life on the beach goes on day and night. It begins at dawn when people go walking along the water’s edge and finishes well into the night after dinner, barefoot on the sand. The idea is that you can do anything on the beach, yoga lessons, needlework courses, sandcastle competitions and piadina making. All kinds of sport are practised, even those which do not official exist yet. During the day the beach establishments organize many kind of events for adults and kids. To put it briefly: the emphasis is on enjoyment.

The best thing of all is that the sport activities (together with various facilities, warm showers, changing rooms, books and newspapers, games, entertainment, kindergarten) on the beach are all free. Everything is included in the daily price of the umbrella or the sun lounger. These rates are very competitive with the rest of Italy (as estimated by the various consumer associations). One advantage for tourists is that there is no entrance fee to go onto the beach.  You can enter for free and you pay a fee only if you ask the beach attendant for a sun lounger.

In Rimini there are also free beaches with toilet and life guards: the area near Piazzale Boscovich; San Giuliano area in front of the harbour; Marebello area between the beaches 105 - 106 and 107 – 108; Miramare area between the beaches 139 and 140 and from beach 150 up to the Thalassotherapy Centre and then from the area reserved to the Air force to the boundary with Riccione; Torre Pedrera area around the end of Via Tolemaide.
