Fellinianno 2013: The book of dreams on display at the City Museum

Kick off the events dedicated to Federico Fellini on the 20th anniversary of his death

On the occasion of the nineteenth anniversary of Federico Fellini death (October 29th), a space dedicated to the Master has opened in Rimini City Museum. Here the “Libro dei sogni” (the Book of dreams) is hosted. The book contains the two original albums on which Fellini drew and sketched, since the early sixties to 1990, his dreams, figures, scenaries and circumstances which can be found in his films. With this exhibition, Fellini’s overwhelming imagination finally emerges from the darkness in the special area of the City museum along with other precious treasures linked to the memories and the identity of Rimini.

The exhibition of the Book opens a series of events dedicated to Federico Fellini starting a year, 2013, full of coincidences and celebrations: the twentieth anniversary of the death of the Master and the anniversaries of several films: Vitelloni and Agenzia matrimoniale (60 years), an episode of Amore in città and Otto e mezzo (50 years), Amarcord (40) and E la nave va (30).

A kaleidoscope of occasions, that the Municipality of Rimini celebrates with a series of initiatives such as screenings, concerts, festivals, shows, exhibitions, which will be framed and promoted under the name of "Fellinianno 2013."

The book of dreams will be on display to the public in a dedicated room on the ground floor of the City Museum with free admission. The two original albums are kept in a theca and every week different pages will be exposed in turn. A copy of both volumes and a digital version of the book are available to the public.

Next to the book, on display another of the objects coming directly from the hand of the Master, the so-called "love bird", the mechanical device that accompanied the erotic deeds of the Venetian lover in the film Casanova.
