Programme : An exhibition at the City Museum in Rimini and a day of meetings to celebrate the centenary of René Gruau’s birth, the artist born in Rimini on 4th February 1909. He was active from the twenties to the nineties of the last century. The exhibition is organized by ZoneModa, the faculty of Rimini University, and remains open until Sunday 17th May 2009.
The opening ceremony is on Saturday 7th February 2009.

The exhibition "Gruau e cent’anni di moda"- "Gruau and a hundred years of fashion" aims to illustrate, through a selection of works, even unpublished, the artist’s works from the twenties to the nineties of the twentieth century. There are almost one hundred years of fashion documented: from his working as an illustrator for magazines and companies to the advertising of luxury products, cosmetics, accessories, clothes.

It is possible to discover the Gruau style in the path created by Francesca Iaconisi, Silvia Melatti and Marco Urizzi, which also includes a fashion gallery.

The Book "Gruau e la moda. Illustrare il Novecento"- "Gruau and fashion" (Silvana Editoriale, 2009) is published in Italian and English and collects original works of many scholars of different nationalities and different skills in order to discover the relationship between Gruau and fashion.

The exhibition is organized in collaboration with the City Museum of Rimini, who has a collection of about 400 works donated by Rene Gruau in year 2000.
